My favorite was "Gracie's choice"

It was about 2 sisters and 3 brothers, with different fathers. The mother was always abusing drugs and always in prison. Gracie was the oldest, they all lived with their grandmother.

Gracie began taking care of her brothers & sister. She did everything in her power, to keep from having her family split up into foster care/homes.

She went to school and worked at the same time. Gracie's sister became pregnant and left to start a life with her boyfriend.

Gracie wanted a home for herself & her brothers. With help she was able to move from her grandmothers house with her brothers.

After Gracie graudated High school, she wanted to adopt her brotheres. But complications began cause her mom returned back into thier lives. Now Gracie and her mom fought over the custody of the boys in court.

The best part of the movie was, the mom trying to convince the boys, how much she loved them, and they would really like where they are moving etc.... During court the Judge could not decide what to do, so she asked the 3 boys. All 3 boys wanted to live with Gracie, so Gracie won the boys from her mom.

Another favorite of mine was "Homeless to Harvard",.

"A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story" that one really made me cry. That's the one where the son decides from an early age that he's really a female in a male's body & so he starts wearing makeup & female clothes... and then in the end a bunch of high school jerks beat the crap out of him & he dies. Why does everyone think they are so cool when they hurt those that are "different" from them? They are people too just like everybody else.
