I have observed now a days in particular that right from sales executive to top management professionals put on a tie.What may be the reason?Is it to proove that they are smart guys?

I believe its a sign that says " I mean business" so they try to take on a more serious and sophisticated role. People would rather deal with people who wear ties than someone who wears a t-shirt. You get a sense of a professional working with a tie-wearer, even if some arent exactly what we call "professional".

Image my fren. It all boils down to stereotype image. Monkey see monkey do. How do you like seeing a CEO of a company turn up for meeting in Harley davidson t-shirt? By the way exception to some though. Like Richard Branson etc etc

Dude... looks are half the deal. Just like you wouldn't even try a dish that looked bad, to get their foot in the door almost all executives wear formal outfits.

not to prove they are smart.There are few reasons to do so,one is able to present themself as part of the company reputation requirement of professionalism.second will be the trend in business world fashion.And third look more confidence and presentable according to job they handling.So be acceptable in this business world.
