I've always loved it, since I was very little.
I know that classical music isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it really seems like some kids positively HATE it. Why?
The only logical reason I can think of is retaliation against being forced by parents to practise piano, violin, or some other instrument.
But kids who don't play any instrument and have no knowledge of classical music seem to hate it as much if not more! I've seen them sighing, cringing, "eww"ing, and even covering their ears when classical music comes on. Why??

Well, a lot of teenagers, and people in general, are probably what you could call, "close-minded!" If it's not popular and what they are used to hearing, they'll most likely automatically dismiss it.
I can't figure out why they choose to hate classical music in particular, but I suppose it's just because the style is so different than the modern pop/hip-hop styles they listen to today. It only shows their ignorance, though, when they choose to say "It sucks!" and won't give it a chance. Oh well, their loss. Classical isn't exactly my favorite genre, but I can respect the music and hold appreciation for some of what I hear.

Because of their exposures to other kind of music and interest! We are now in the computer age and RNB,hip hops are just few of the trend now, as well as musics in cartoon TV shows, nursery rymes, video games, cable TV,internet and still a lot of diversification and simplifications of childs attentions! I love classical musics but I have more time with the new trends offers by the modern sciences and a lot of entertainment!Lifestlye now for this generations had totally change and we cannot compare it with the history because of the said evolutions!

Because it's not "cool" to like classical music, and heaven forbid you would look uncool by listening to it even for a second!

Maybe because they never had any orientation with it even as babies. The "ewwing" thing is more peer pressure than it is a sincere reaction. Partly to blame are their parents or where they live. They probably were "trained" or "educated" to hate it...

They probably think it doesn't have a "groovy beat" to it, and that's out of style. I wish they'd learn that there's alot of great classical stuff out there. I'd love to hear Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" coming out of a bass-thumper sometime!!
