I think you could lead to the path of spoiling him... instead of this happening, stop giving him money and start giving him allowance. You're choice how much, just not 50 quid a month! Yea, start giving him allowance and if he wants to do all of these things, then he can save up. You're also teaching him how to earn and deal with money, which is good! And every so often, when he has been good, treat him to a game or whatever kids like these days. But only small things.

I think that the plasma screen is a bit much and if he ever disrespects you in any way you can take that off im as a punishment, or other things like ps2/xbox or whatever he has. But I think that it's good that you're thinking that he is getting too much, because like I said, you could be leading down the path to spoiling him...

The answer to your question, I think that you should sit and talk to him about the allowance thing and tell him that you will give him the money for the match, but then that will be it, and he will have to start saving.

Oh, another tip, get him a savings account and tell him that if he gets 100 pound saved up in there, then you will give him 50 pound to add to it.

Are you kidding? A plasma TV in his bedroom?! Tell him to watch the match on that thing, it's got better resolution than the real world, anyway! Definitely no, don't give him the money. You've given him quite enough already. He can save up his allowance to go see the football match.

depends on circumstance i suppose,,,,,if you've got the money and he's a good kid just having fun with friends then yes, going to football is a lot better than sitting in front of the TV............on the other hand if he's 25, on benefits and addicted to crack then simply punch him in the face,,,,,,,i guess its closer to the first one so your hand should be in your pocket by now..........

no..are you on a guilt trip for some reason. make him earn the money with little chores or you'll have a money pit on your hands by the end of the year. teach him the value of things. a good lesson for life.

what has he done to deserve going to the match? if he's done nothing then dont give him nothing, if he's done the dishes and the garden and made you breakfast in bed......or if you want to spend the afternoon with the wife and its worth giving him a bung to get him out of the house so you can be alone....

Can you afford it? Does he deserve it? Is he grateful for the things he gets from you? Does he thank you?
Your choice.

No, you should take him yourself and spend quality time with him.
Your time is more precious than anything else you can give him.
