Hi all. When I think of the past I understand that our government was putting pressure on women to wear scarves. I thought what a bad government it is. And now that I am 18, I understand that I was wrong. Why? Because our young generation has a great interest in western cultures. Now wearing scarves is just a way of showing that I am a Moslem. Some of the girls and as far as I know most of the girls living in Tehran wear flashy cloths and more than half of their hairs fly out. Nearly 80 percent of Iranian girls are really beautiful. And not wearing scarves and putting extreme make up increases their beautifulness and turns them to angels! But the problem is that there are always sick people who would misuse this. I do not know is it good for a girl to be looked at as a sex object? When I was browsing on the internet (on BBC News web site) I found an interview with two Iranians (a boy and a girl) living in the U.S. they said in Iran we could not dress like this and when we came here we thought how free and lucky we are! I wonder how stupid can they get to point out such a stupid thing? If they lived here now they would not say that. Those Iranians who have escaped to the U.S are all timid people who could not face the reality and have always searched happiness somewhere out of their own homeland / religion / and culture. If you take a closer look at such girls and boys in Iran you will notice that some of them (not all of them) have unreasonable behaviors that do not fit our culture and religion at all. We mainly consider them as hooligans. Such things may sound natural to you but for us it is a disaster! I daresay there is nearly nothing left of our rich culture. And this is just fault of satellites. I remember that about 10 years ago government prevented people of having satellites. And now I understand that they were right. Now almost every one has a satellite and government does not do a thing. I can already see that children have changed a lot. They know things that they should not know. They know things that are so early for them to digest and that have caused them to have conflicts with their environment. Young boys and girls would like to mimic things that they see on satellite channels. And every other week they do strange things and they call them {fashions}! I think such boys and girls who claim that they are not (or were not) free in Iran probably have mental illnesses. Such boys and girls say we want to change. But I am asking you is this a good way for changing? I think it is only a good way for ruining your own culture / forgetting your religion / and doing stupid things. As I told you before now everything has changed in Iran. Women are capturing our country. Women are taking all good jobs, good universities. Saying that women are not free here is total foolishness and surely it is because of ignorance. You may say what is wrong with you? Well I am a boy and I do not like to be unemployed. Why all good things are for women? Each country has its own culture and religion that is suitable only for that country. I mean our culture is suitable for us; it is not suitable for you and your culture is good for you not for us. Pay attention that I am talking about culture not religion or politics. What you know of Iran is just based on gossips and lies of Bush and Fox News! Sudden changes in culture would bring some problems along with it. Take Iran for example. People used to be satisfied with what they had. But now most of them are just thinking of money. I can feel that people show off their modern cars and their big houses. I am tired of this. I do not want to be proud. Is this a worldwide problem? Look at the wares, lies, accusations, insults, I think these are all signs of {the end of times} what do you think?

I tried to answer your question in your last post, but it was closed. Well I don't agree with you in some parts. However, I do agree with you on the parts about change of culture and tradition and moving toward the west. But you know who is responsible for this? the government is responsible.. they were preventing people from having satellites, now every single house in Iran has one, even the most religous ones. they don't let women to be free in order to wear what they want, so they go extreme and wear those disgusting dress which would turn every one on even the women. I'm not happy with the way young Iranians are and living in Iran.. because all they are doing is protesting against the rules and stupid laws and this is the result. no one in Iran happy because of the government. therefore, it is like they are destroying everything because they just want to protest. the traditional culture of Iran is fading away because the world is moving forward and to tell you the truth some of the things had to change.. such as no letting women attending universities or to work and so on.. or the thing about Mard salari.. now is better than before.. so you know we need to move forward with time and the modern world.. some of cultural things were good for its own time, which is not useful today.. u see wearing scarves was good 100-200 years ago in Iran, but today its not.. and the government can not force people as you see they are wearing it but really that way of wearing scarf is worse than not wearing it.. I'll say this part in farsi..

we have been living in the end times for Years... I have been to many Countries in the Persian Gulf region. It seems to be a trend, but I tcna not be blamed on western culture. Now people are getting the chance to experience fredoom of choice and not feel oppressed into doing what a Country feels is right. Let people make their own choices. If they coose to live that way, lets not have society take it ot on them. I know in ur culture that Women are also considered to be subservant to males, that is wrong, I have seen what can happen if someone is shamed in that culture, it is absurd that one still has to live that way. Also you can say that TV is to blame. People know the Difference btwn wrong and right, maybe it can influence, but that is like saying guns kill, no people kill people and the gun is the medium to make it happen...I am anot saying ur culture is wrong, but look at the area you live, wars have been going on there for over 2000 yrs, and yet everyone hates western culture...I think one must be informed and has some sort of back ground before you go blaming Western Civilization for their countries problems...Not saying you direclty said that, but maybe implied it not meaning to..I think here in the West we take things for granted and need to experience life in other countries where it is not so freely forgotten and more appreicated...But I have atleast seen that and don't take it for granted... I have seen many 3rd world countries and thank Gof for all he has give to me and others around me...

Of course not - but it does appear that for some the end of reason has already arrived.
