Last night I dreamed that my uncle died. I also remember one of my cousins asking me if I had a picture of him and his father. Also another cousin was writing a few words about an occassion that my uncle participated in.

It is not that clear why you have dreamt about your uncle. Do you have a close relationship with your uncle? I bet if not your uncle, you must have a close relationship with your cousin. Dreaming of death could mean departure.
In you case, you project some sort of responsbilities in the dream. You were asked if you have the pictures of your uncle and cousins. That reflects you may be responsible for something that is not even controlled under you.

In Jungian interpretation of dreams, the uncle represents the archetype of the "wise old King." A cousin is usually yourself, but hiding behind a different "persona." Her or his father is "shadow," all of the atavistic urges that you have, but don't clearly understand. Writing is symbolic of knowledge.
So, your dream means that you feel that you haven't inherited any intelligence from your family because there was never any wisdom there to begin with. The fact that "another cousin was writing" means that you're enviious of a family member who is trying to get an education.

Our dreams are sometimes the opposite of what will happen in reality..your uncle will not die.. he will still live a long life.. I had that same dream before, only my sister died in my dream.. But my sister is still alive.. So that kind of dream is really the opposite
