I live in California right on the San Andreas fault. Do you think we are overdue for a major earthquake? I know it will happen. It's just a matter of when. And where do you think I should keep my emergancy earthquake kit at, in my kitchen, bedroom, car? I am afraid I won't be able to get to it after a quake.

California has earthquakes. So do Italy, Japan, Argentina, anyplace with fault lines. They happen, and at the darnedest times.
Keep a kit in the car, one in an accessible place in the house, and have a place to meet if your residence is unavailable - like city hall or the high school. Ask your local Red Cross for specifics!

According to the show on The Weather Channel (that I just watched last night) it could happen any where from the next three minutes to 30 years. the last one was in 1906. So they are due for another one at any time. This one will be catastrophic they say. It will bring down many buildings, cause fires, and will look like it's the end of the world. (much like the one in 1906, but this one will be much worse because there are many more buildings)

Of all the experts that exist---almost every single one of them state for the record that "the big One " is somewhat OVER DUE for California----and darlin'---when this one comes---your kit isn't gonna make much difference----try this one on------------>>>>

For several hundred square miles from the center of this one---the earth will "liquify" to a depth of some 75 feet----LIQUIFY--- The world does not have many scenarios in its history to compare with the devestation said to be in the offing of this one and it WILL cause major problems of wide scale over such a wide berth of every single socio-economic level that the entire world will feel the effects of it for decades afterwards
