it said put the 1st cd, so i put it, then after a while, it said put the next cd, so put disc 2. and so on, until i put the 4th cd. after a while, a message appeared: what do you want to do next? read the readme file or launch the game. i chose launch the game, and it said please insert disk1. and i inserted the disk 1, but a message appeared, please insert the correct cd rom, select ok and restart application. everytime i try to launch the game, a message like that appears. how can i play it?

If you haven't already, restart your computer.

If that doesn't work, uninstall and re-install the game.

Oh, and clean the disc if need be.

and, if they ARE copies, don't run out and buy it, waste of money, but then again I'm an FPS, RTS fanatic.

I understand. You're having the copied cds and not the original ones. here's what you've to do.

1.Check the contents of the 4 cds and see if you can find a folder named 'CRACK' in any of the 4cds.
2.If you can find it, open it and you'll see a 'sims2' icon there. (diamond shaped)
3.Copy the icon and paste it in the folder where you've actually installed the game in your PC.
4.When you paste it there, it will say that such a file already exists and do you want to replace it.
5.Click 'yes'.
6. Now try to run the game. It sure will.

Are they Original disks, if not the copy protection is stopping you - Go out and BUY the game yourself!
