Internet is the world's largest network of computers. Its not a single network but rather a network of NETWORKS e.g www. When youbrowse you are connected to WAN.

Intranet= Company's baby Strictly for office use only: All the files are uploaded on intranet so we dont have to ask e.g Duty travel forms, leave forms, contact list..... etc. All the outstation offices have access to Intranet

There's one major distinction between an intranet and the Internet. The Internet is an open, public space, while an intranet is designed to be a private space.
An intranet may be accessible from the Internet, but as a rule it's protected by a password and accessible only to employees or other authorized users.

internet means open info and contact with other users intranet is computers on the same network

well at my work we have intranet, that only employees of the company can get onto, so i think it's a private section of the internet that everyone can get onto.

internet == wide area network...conntected to the world.

intranet == local area network...connected to the computer down the hall.
