Communism is only good for the very few at the top. There has never been a country run by Communism that has provided a descent standard of living for more than 10% its people.
While the concept of "commune" may sound good, very few people are willing to work hard to see to it that their neighbors get most of the benefits.
Read the below.
The Communists are the Grasshopper and the Goose.
I'm on the side of the Ant and the Little Red Hen. Aren't you?

Look at the history. Blood, degredation, terror.
Soviet Union, China, Vietnam, North Korea, Cambodia, Cuba... where people follow the teachings of Marx, Lenin, Stalin, and Mao, people suffer horribly. Not everyone, not all the time, but moreso than almost any other system of government (except perhaps the prehistoric cannibal monarchies of South America).
I am boggled that people keep trying. It's like saying "THIS time, when I bang my head into a brick wall it won't hurt!"
But then again, when someone loses their life savings in Vegas for the third time, I'm boggled by that, too.
I guess it's easy for trustafarians in Western universities to imagine that they could figure out some magic trick that all those other people missed that would "fix" it.

That depends on what you define communism as. If you are talking about communism as Marx defined it which is the bourgeois being overthrown by the proletariat, thus creating a classless society where government is no longer needed, it is brilliant. But if you are talking about the mainstream communism as in Cuba and Russia, then no. Communism by Marx's definition is nowhere near the communism that exists today. It is just another brilliant idea that a couple of people changed to fit their agendas.

In theory, marge, in theory, communisim's good in theory. But as a practical ideology or economic system it is generally unworkable. There have been a few small scale interesting experiments, like the Owens communities.
Don't even bring up the Chinese or the Soviets. They weren't communists.

In theory, it's a brilliant idea, but in reality, it's in human nature to try to beat others. Communism will always fail so long as people continue to strive for more and better things.

Communism is good if the leader is incorruptible.
Jesus, the man, preached a form of communism.
of course he never sinned, though.
