my toilet gets a build up of limescale thats really hard to get rid of. The lotions and potions that i buy dont seem to work that. Is there a good home made remedy? They usually work better than shop bought stuff.

i have used bleach in the past, which is great for a clean loo, but it only lightens the limescale, it doesnt remove it.

get yourself a water softener fitted, if limescale is doing that to your loo, think what the pipes are like for your Central heating system (if u don't have an inhibitor in it) & your washing machine & the inside of your water tank, best thing is a water softning system u can get one from Screwfix dot com for about 500 quid, if you are capable of fitting it yourself, or get someone to fit it for you, or go the whole hog & get a water softner company in to do the complete job, well worth the money.

You`ll laugh at this but i swear it works. Denture tablets. I put a whole pack down my toilet and left it over night and when i flushed the chain in the morning it was sparkling.

Try bleach,......every day squirt and brush that should help. Also chlorine tabs broken unto small bits and placed in your tank will provide continuous cleaning, just remember to use small bits as it can be very strong.

A woodden scaler and plenty of elbow grease. But I'd give cheap coke a try, just to see if it works.

Get lye powder in the local hardware or drugstore. Make sure to wear a glove when you handle that.
