A couple of reasons:
1. Some of us are not willing to accept that there will be no punishment of the bad and no reward for the good, because if this was true then life becomes meaningless, and all the good deeds done by the good ones would be in vain, and all the bad deeds bad people did would go un-judged. Oppressed people want to believe that one day they will be rewarded, and their oppressors punished, and since there's a high chance this won't happen in this world, then they create another world and believe in it. When you have believed in it long enough it becomes true!
2. Some of us are so arrogant they feel they can tell others how to live their lives, and to be persuasive, they threaten us that if we don't do what we're told we'll burn eternally, but if we obey we'll be rewarded, that's how they make sure people will follow blindly.. it's called blind faith isn't it?
3. Some of us don't see why we should suffer pain and discomfort, so we comfort ourselves be creating a wonderful world where there's no pain anymore for us. While those who hurt us can burn happily in hell..

Assume you don’t believe Scriptures and Prophets who are telling us there are, because they were just written and all Prophets already gone. Assume you don’t believe Ghosts and Spirits, to your dreams that your own spirit sometime going somewhere, because they are immaterial.
Will you not believe that a Force made the Universe and most important you? And how the earth goes around and not standing on any floor?
There is really Force (God) that made everything; He set Heaven and Hell too, so that those who believe (that there is one God) and praise Him will go to Heaven, and those who don’t will go to hell...

well, heaven means for me a place where their is no culprits like bush or laden and not even their stupid activity happens........lol it really mean for me where i can have the best time as no one will have misery,or problems.it gonna be relaxed life.and hell is just right now we are facing in this world.
and what all happening in this world make me believe if this kind of a hell is their then definitely their would be one opposite of this hell exist that's what we called heaven.

faith, blind faith. i can't see the wind, but I've felt it. and i can't see God but I've felt I'm in my life many many times and He once told me from His Word (the bible) that he was going to prepare a place for me, so that's how i know there's a Heaven. because he told me so and he can't lie to me and besides he said 'if it weren't so i would have told you'. - John 14:2

funny answer:a heaven is a place which iranians cook food,germans are police,love stories are from italians,arts are from french and all are ontime like british!and hell is a place which british cook food,love stories are from germany,arts are from americans and they are late like iranians!
