I don't think so. Water damage cause the book pages to crumple and it changes the colour of a book.
Ironing a book actually can't work. It only helps to dry a book when it is wet and will cause it to crumple.
You can try wiping water off the book quickly after spilling water on it. It works if you act fast.

If the pages are damaged, there is little that can be done. The water permenantly affects the paper on a chemical level: dissolves the glue in it, etc.
However, if the pages are okay but the cover has been damaged, it is possible to have a book rebound. A book would have to be of high sentimental and/or material value for this to be worth it, and not all books can be rebound (paperbacks, etc.). But if, for example, you have a treasured old family Bible whose cover is falling off, you can almost certainly get that rebound.

Water damage is the main culprit that weakens your home’s foundation and the very core that holds your house together. You’ve heard about core strength for your body. Well, water damage hits at the core strength of your house, eventually causing serious structural damage. Damp wood invites termites and carpenter ants; plus, it causes mold and mildew. A bucket and cup, mop, towels or rags are good starting clean up methods. Time is of the essence because water can soak into floors, ceilings, walls and other permeable surfaces very easily.
