In the inception stages, microwave cooking was not accepted, as is the case with any new invention.
Subsequent changes in designs have perfected this gadget, and it very useful in the current times. It cooks at faster speeds, the food does not lose any vitamin and nutrients, and a variety of
options are available, like spin cook, grill, and various time settings.Non veg food that normally takes hours, is cooked gently, thoroughly & fast.

Unless you are using a pacemaker or a defibrillator - in heart diseases - and probably other biodevices that can get interfered with the microwaves....even though the new models takes into consideration this little hazard.
On the contrary, microwaving makes you save fat in comparison with reheating in a pot, time when coming back and forgot to defreeze what should become dinner in a while, and makes easier the preparation of vegetables - indeed - fish, and even bread.
Choosing a right container is responsible since not all "plastic" materials are proved to be safe.
For concluding, unless you are thinking to dry your hair in the microwave - as I heard once - then the microwave is more inoffensive than a fryng pan full of burning oil.

Microwave cooking is bad when you:
1) Cook/ defrost/ reheat using plastic containers/ plastic bags.
2) Stand too close to the microwave oven when its running and you're pregnant (if you're a girl)
3) Use foil inside the oven. It'll start a mini-4th of July inside the oven and damage the unit.
Use stoneware or any ceramic container that's "microwave safe" because plastic has been proven to be harmful to food.

theres no problem at all. Radiation problems and unhealthiness is a disputed effect.
One thing that can happen (this was on myth busters) is that thick fluids can become super heated and explode in your face.
Putting metal in most microwaves causes the metal to spark
The radiation produced by a microwave oven is non-ionizing. As such, it does not have the cancer risks associated with ionizing radiation such as X-rays, ultraviolet light, and nuclear radioactive decay.
The U.S. legal limit of leaking radiation from a microwave oven is 1 mW/cm² at 5 cm.
a GSM mobile phone may emit up to 3.2 mW/cm², at 5 cm, with a human being staying nearby (such as within 5 cm for far longer periods of time)

microwave creates radiaition and is bad if you stand too close while it is on, so if you take a couple steps back or do something else its not exactly bad, but nuking your food isn't too healthy, but its not terribly dangerous
