Kobe Motherfuckin Bryant...Why? Let me break it down for yah...
He's the only player out of the current top 5 players in the NBA who has three rings. He's showed he can win championships, sure you can say they were with a VERY dominate Shaquille, but Shaq couldnt have done it by himself, he wouldnt have been able to do it without Kobe, so leave it at that...
Kobe is a beast. The guy can do it all, he's done it all. He's a great free throw shooter, great slasher to the basket, can finish at any angle, able to change shot in mid air, can draw the foul, can score even when fouled, hits amazing shots, has an AMAZING fadaway, can take over games offensively. He's just a complete offensive showcase, he can dish, he can board, he can post you up, cross you up, pop it up over you, everything. The guy has it all, a wide arrange of moves and finishing touches that makes him impossible to stop. He can finish with BOTH hands, something few can do, he can shoot from anywhere in any situation. Kid's amazing...
He's clutch. He's hit so many crucial shots in crucial times, the most recent one being in that Game 4 playoff game vs. Phoenix, others this season include ones against Golden State, New Orleans, Clippers, Cavaliers, and many other teams that I fail to remember. The guy can do whatever is necessary, hit a 3, draw the foul, get an open look for himself and knock it down, anything. And with 24 seconds on the clock, or 1 second on the clock, he'll make it happen. He's got ice in his veins, he feels no pressure, he rocks in it.
The X-Factor right here...he plays a mean man on man defense. NO player that has been listed in this thread plays ANY man on man defense. Dwayne Wade? Hell no, the guy plays horrible defense, so many times is he not even watching his man and gets lost and his man gets an open look, he floats too much, hes thinking hes a safety playing in the NFL, where he can just roam around and follow who has the ball. And when he does try to play he doesnt do so well, easily beaten many times. The guy only looks good statistically cuz he roams around makin blocks or readin passin lanes, but that doesnt mean **** about your man on man defense. Same with LeBron James, EXACT same, he doesnt know how to play man on man defense either, Kobe raped him in one regular season game, he gaurded him the entire 4th quarter, couldnt do **** to stop him, and Kobe gaurded him, held him down well. So not till one of these guys even BOTHER playing some man on man defense will they even be considered the best player in the current NBA.
Till then...It'll be Kobe Bryant...at least he is of this modern era...

I'm kobe fan but why you forgot steve nash wheather you want it or hate it he's a back to back MVP not evry player can do it who else with 20 pts 10 assist and he have a nice defence.
but steve nash can't do it without his teammates but kobe alone (once a mounth lamar or the other tammate play nice).
I wanted to see D-Wade, le bron, kobe in the same team but...
maybe 2008 olymics that will happend.
shaq is verry lucky in orlando he had hardway move to L.A he found kobe in miami Wade.
and no way to select the player each one have it's own way and domain stats talk.
