I think I'll have to go with A Very Long Engagement, Amélie, or the Sea Inside...

What are yours?

Ok, fine, I apparently forgot a bunch of my favorite non-English language movies. Here are a few more: The Motorcycle Diaries, Butterfly (La lengua de las mariposas), Y tu mamá también, The Official Story.

About Amores Perros: I bought the DVD of that movie without having seen it because it was on sale and I love Gael García Bernal. I got it home, got about 30 minutes into it, and couldn't stomach it anymore. I immediately went to the credits to see the part that assures that no animals were harmed, but that didn't make me feel any better. I gave the movie away to a friend that afternoon... I wish I could watch it all the way through, but I just can't...

Since you are interested in Argentine stuff, you might want to see "Un lugar en el mundo", by Adolfo Aristarain, starring Federico Luppi and Cecilia Roth. In a nutshell, it's about human dignity, and how you can be a winner by your own standards, when everybody else would think you've lost the war. It's the greatest most beautiful film I've ever seen.

Amelie was awsome and funny!!! Gotta love the Roaming Gnome commercials even more because of it!!!

Oh, and I really liked Run, Lola, Run!!! Watch all three endings...awsome!!

Really old one, "A man and a woman." Sweet and sad love story.

Hero...Amazing cimematography!!

High Tension SUCKED...it could have been good, but it got really lost and was predictable.
I think I liked "Infection" more...and it was lame too!!! Talk about your "B" grade movies...

Oh and there was this other one, I think it was Korean, about a volleyball team made up of all drag Queens....It was hillarious...really!! I wish I remembered the name of that one.
