it does not make a difference even if you want to describe color in any way to an inborn blind person cause all they even dream of is not in visuals but sounds and smells. but even if you insist try to relate it an object like a shirt, or a flower and if there is an indigo colored flower around make the person smell it and he will recognize it later on or you can mark all the indigo objects with a particular perfume/scent for the person to recognize every time they smell it

Jumping into a lake in summer and sinking to the bottom, for just a second. Deep, cold, quiet and still, that is indigo.

I think you should combine other sensations you associate with the color. I think of coolness, smoothness, and "blue" sounds like slow, cool jazz (the real stuff, not the 'lite' variety--like Miles Davis 'Kind of Blue'). Maybe you've got other sensual associations with the color indigo. I think combinations of these associated sensations would be the best way to approximate it for someone who lacks any knowledge of visuals.

indigo is hot, yet icy. it's intellectual, and very sexual, but frustrated too. indigo appears in the sky at dawn and dusk when the weather is beautiful but storms lie ahead way before we can feel it in the atmosphere. indigo is the color for when you feel sad, but that sadness is not one that makes you want to lay down and die, but instead makes you want to rage at God and tear down the walls around you.
Indigo is a very beautiful color.
I hope this helps.

Hmm. Using the "Red is like hot and blue is like cold" method, i would say it's when cold just begins to warm up. Which makes sense, like when the sun starts to brighten a dark sky- you get indigo.
It's sort of a pretty thought. Good luck!

Try to teach him with flowers : IRIS
Iris means rainbow, and that's because irises come in so many colors: blues and purples, yellows, oranges, reds.
Try violets also.
such a nice thoughtful question
