Sorry to say but you have no other choice this is illegal. You pretty much have no other choice but to go through an agency. You decide to do it you and the people taking the child will go to jail. Its different if its your family member taking legal guardianship of the child.

Ask around. And it's not illegal. I had a friend in highschool who gave her child to a couple that her mom knew through work. I probably wouldn't go putting an ad in the paper or anything, who knows what kind of people would turn up. But ask friends and relatives if they know someone who wants a child. As long as all your paperwork is correct and legit, for that you or the adopting parents will need a lawywer, you're fine.
For the record, that was the bravest and smartest thing she ever did, and I congratulate you, also, on your convictions.

You have to go through and agency unless your family is going to adopt your child. I am going through the same thing. In fact I just found a couple through IAC. They have counselors there that can really help you prepare for the adoption. Don't believe what people say about you being a "quitter" or "bad mom". They don't what it takes to make sure your child has the best life possible.

If your parents or someone in your immediate family cannot adopt the baby, you need to find a professional to help you. Congratulations on making the decision to have the baby and give it a home, but make sure it's a good home, not the first people that offer you money or seem to have a lot of money. You cannot do background searches on your own or get references and access to their information. Think about your decision a little further and Good Luck!

My best friend had to have a hysterectomy at age 22 years old and would love to speak with you. She's now 33 years old and longs to give a child a home. Also you can check out the personals in your local paper for couple wanting a child they can't have them self.
