ive got loads for different times and stuff-the jam were such a brilliant band and if like me-you were a true fan around the time that they were around youll have a lot of those songs burned into you-but hey-on with the answer!!
tube station is tense
liza radley is touching
in the city is energising
town called malice is uplifting with great lyrics
funeral pyre is scary
thats entertainment is ironic and poetic

i guess the answer is i dont really know-ive got all their stuff and even though i dont really listen to them that often nowadays they are a band that will always stay with me-went to see weller on the last tour and he played in the crowd and im not ashamed to admit there was a tear in my eye as i sang along to every word as loud as i could!!if you havnt got a lot of the bands stuff ill be only too pleased to cut you"direction,reaction,creation"(6 cd box set of all their output)and post it-that is of course if you havnt got it already!!and i hope you have-keep it burning my friend and get in touch if you want any product.

Not bad...any song that rhymes 'brown leather' and 'weather' you gotta love but for me you can't beat 'Start' for ripping off the Beatles and 'English Rose' for proving that Weller had a love song in him.

What the hell, it's not like there are any duff Jam songs anyway.
Even 'Smithers Jones' is good. Not the string version though. Guitar demo.

So many to choose from, but I love the words to Down In The Tube Station At Midnight, so I'll vote for that...

I first felt a fist, and then a kick
I could now smell their breath
They smelt of pubs and Wormwood Scrubs
And too many right wing meetings
