I was told a few years ago that Avon's Skin So Soft Body Lotion worked wonders. I always get bitten, but absolutely hate the smell of anti-insect sprays. I tried it when we went to Majorca two years ago, and it did indeed seem to work. Apparently, there's something in it that the mosquitoes don't like.

Jungle Spray (good Chemists), also take a garlic tablet everyday it releases a skin odour that they don't like, and if you like Marmite eat lots of it on Toast it is high in vitamin B which is also released through your skin and they hate that too, and hopefully you will be bite free...I suppose if you are a marmite hater get some vitamin B1 Tablets, don't know if they would be effective somebody else may know, somebody also told me once to keep Lavender in a vase of water in the house and they'll run a mile, so I always have Lavender picked out of the garden in the house, and it also looks nice when its dried and gives off a nice aroma into the bargain.......hope a mixture of all of these keep you bite free

I grew up on a farm where we would make our own. We would get a bottle and put baby oil almost to the top and a couple of drops of kerosene. The nice baby oil smell outweighed the kerosene smell. (although the mosquitoes could smell it) The baby oil also kept the kerosene from drying out our skin too. People use to comment on how great (smooth and soft) our skin looked.

We also use to burn dried horse or cow sh*t which wards off mosquitoes, bugs and snakes. If you light it and let it smoulder it keeps them at bay. I know it sounds gross but horse and cow sh*t is just like grass only having been through the digestion process.

Then again you could screen your house and on dusk close the house up and leave a light on outside to attract the bugs/mozzies to that instead of inside the house.

Citronella oil works great, you can put a couple of drops in one of those oil burners and it puts a lovely smell throughout the house, whilst keeping the little mongrels at bay.

Good Luck

Take vitamin B1 I think it is...ask in your health shop. I went to Brazil with my family and took it,everyone else got eaten alive and I had one tiny bite! It's brilliant!
