Just as important as the first year.
You have to maintain that intimacy. It keeps the bond strong.

Sex, in marriage or any long term relationship is pretty important. Ranks right up there with oxygen, if you don't get either, you will notice and in pretty short order.

But there is work involved in maintaining any relationship and after the "honeymoon" is when the real work comes into play. Sex can become mundane, routine and expected after a certain amount of time. But the wise couple knows that to keep the relationship alive the spark needs to be rekindled from time to time. Which is where true intimacy takes place. There is very little more satisfying in life than the be able to look at your partner from across a crowded room and know what the other is feeling. And that, for this author, is the best and most romantic stimulation ever. Good luck.

I don't believe sex ever looses its importance in marriage. Just as important the fifth year as, at least, the second year, and the tenth year, and the fifteenth year, etc. It may not be realistic to sustain the same amount of sex that you enjoyed the first year, but you can, and should, have even better sex in quality then. After all, if you don't learn every year, you're just going through the motions. Sex is something that needs refreshing frequently, and that guarantees it will be important every year, and every time.

Very important. A marriage without sex (or any other form of intimacy) will not last.

As important as it was in the beginning.. Men need it every now and then and we need to provide it to them. It's also a stress fighter and yes they're right, it strengthens the bond between both of you.

Sex is very important because it's kinda like the glue that keeps the partners connected physically.

You still need all the other crap like emotional connection, spiritual connection, yada yada yada.
