It'd have to be one heckuva injury for them to give a 14 year old a cortisone injection. They'll more than likely make an x-ray of the area to confirm nothing really bad and then give a prescription for some pain reliever/muscle relaxant and tell you to take it easy for a while.
You're young abd your recuperative capabilities are going full-tilt right now to repair the damage... much more effective than any shot can do. That's for later in life when you don't have those self-healing abilities anymore.

O.kay, first calm down about the needles. Think of it this way, you shoulder and hand are in a lot of pain and yes that needle can be painful too. But the shots are quick and easy and it's going to make ALL the pain go away. For the time being you need to ice your shoulder. That will help the swelling go down. Some things you can do to relax about the needles is lay down on your bed and close your eyes. Just lay there and listen to yourself breath. Try not to think about anything else just your breathing. Take 6 deep breathes in through your nose and out your mouth. This will totally relax you. Imagine you are in a place that makes you happy. Beach, home, lake whatever. When you go to get your shot just think about the place that makes you happy and you start to calm down. It will take you mind off of it. When I was young I was really sick and I had to have shots every week for 4 months. I HATED it. This is what I would do to calm myself down. Let me know how it works and if your shoulder is o.kay.

most likely they will ask you about your shoulder pain in detail, and then do an exam (moving the shoulder, seeing what movements cause you discomfort, etc). The treatment will be based on whatever they decide is causing the pain - most likely it is just a pulled muscle/tendon and they'll suggest rest/elevation/ice, etc... I can't imagine you'd need a cortisone shot..but don't quote me on that for sure.
as for the tetanus shot - be warned that this too can cause some muscle pain for 24-48 hours after the injection. It will hurt to lift the arm (such as putting on a shirt), but this is normal and should be gone within a couple of days. Just be sure to let them know about your current shoulder pain before the shot - so that they can put it in the opposite arm.

they'll take an x-ray of your shoulder and dont worry about the needles, it is not near as bad as you are imagining. When they began to inject you, just look away and start singing your favorite song, in your head of course. By the time the song is done, they will be through! Oh and, no one reading this can tell you what might be wrong with your shoulder, let the doctor take the x-ray and he'll fix ya up! Relax! Sorry you hurt yourself!

they'd desire to x-ray your shoulder. Then they'd ask what variety of action you made to maintain the harm. this might tell them greater effective which muscle mass/bones must be affected. The cortisone injection could in straightforward terms be used for a continual inflammation - it is going to no longer be the 1st highway of examine. it certainly relies upon on what variety of injury that's. it must be something from torn muscle, ligaments, to fractured bone - nonetheless that one isn't very possibly. I anticipate, in the top you would be despatched to physiotherapy. they provides you with workouts. you would be tempted to slack off. Please have self assurance me as quickly as I say, it relatively is not a thank you to circulate. in case you do your workouts you will probable have finished restoration, via fact at your age the physique has dazzling powers of restoration.

About the shoulder, he/she will probably have you move different ways to ask what hurts worse, and may give you muscle relaxers or pain pills. I'm sure it'll be fine.
