I don't want to burst your bubble, but your relationship is not likely to last. He will be independent and free from his parents for the first time in his life and will be extremely tempted to test the waters with other girls. If that happens, remember that it has nothing to do with you! It is normal behavior at this age.

While he is away, try to focus on high school. Open your heart to dating again and try to have some fun. In two years, if you feel the same and you both end up at the same college, then you could try again.

do you love him? if not, i don't see a need to maintain a long distance relationship. WAAAY too much trouble.
