it's not so bad. I love my soul-numbing job at subway that i goto because I'm too lazy to go back to college.
Just so you know, America is a land of oppurtunity. Everyone is given a fair chance to succeed. And, thanks to our roaring economy (slowing down but still great), you can find decent paying jobs even with just a high school diploma. Basically, there's no reason to be poor in America. People who don't have the ambition or desire (i'm in the latter group) to succeed..... well it's their fault. Unless, their handicapped or something like that. Even in this case, they still make money than poor people with a check they get for being crazy or hurt. It's a good country to answer your question.

i caught this docemntary on DVD today. Bus 174. its a spanish documentary about a day in 2000 at rio de janeiro when a street boy took a bus hostage
the documentary is good because it touches on many social issues.. and shows how that hostage taker was just a victim, like so many others.
street kids on the streets of janeiro are born into hopelessness, they are hated and not treated like human beings, but as animals that should eb swept away from public sight and consiousness.
You can feel the hoplessness that this poor kids feel and how every where they turn, they just cannot break free from their vicious cycle of poverty and anger
ultimatedly u dont feel anger for the hostage taker Sandro, but yu feel so sorry and so sad that he was pushed to that
try watching that DVD, i think ull really start to have a deep seated appreciation for your lot in life
i thinka ll people should watch that

Read the article linked below, from the (UK) Daily Mail, June 29, by Michael Winner: "I spend £1,370 a day. Can I live on £8 a day like an average pensioner?"
Yes, it's London, England: but the point remains valid for your question.
