1 mile equals 1760 yards.

A 1 mile long highway would be 1760 yards long.
If that highway were made of concrete, it would require a 1760 yard long stretch of concrete.

EDIT:
Remember people, the asker simply asked for "yrd" [yards] of concrete in the question. Yards is a unit of length, not volume.
With the information provided, it would be impossible to give an answer in anything other than length.

Depends on the depth/width of the concrete. What type of highway? What is the state you live in? State codes may differ as to what the condition/quality of the newly made roads are constructed.
