Does anyone know how to take the hard plastic backing off the back of the major league baseball patches, so they can be sewn on. They put this hard plastic stuff on the back of their licensed patches so you cant sew it on anything, basically it renders the patch just for show.

It's there to iron it on but you can still sew it on. I have before.

that hard backing is supposed to be on the patch. it makes the patch last longer and easier to see when it's sewn on. just take it to a tailor and have it sewn on with a professional quality sewing machine

My uniform patches (FD, not baseball) are like this, too. I think it's supposed to be on there. I take them to the people who do my dry-cleaning to have them sewn on.
