Ok, I am a Mary Kay consultant so I will probably be considered biased, but I must add my opinion. Before I became a consultant I used different products, I too have what is called combination to oily skin. I do not have much problem with acne but I have a neice that does that I turned onto Mary Kay after I was. I too thought the products in the beginning were a bit expensive and even as a consultant I thought people we nuts for spending so much on the stuff until I really started using them myself. Now I would not use anything else. Mary Kay carries products that is made for normal to dry skin or combination to oily skin, including the foundations. We also carry a Acne Treatment Gel that costs around $7 that works great. My neice uses it and she had very bad acne before she started using it and now has very little problem with it. Also, the best thing about Mary Kay is all products are 100% satisfaction guaranteed. If you are not satisfied you can return it and get your money back no questions asked. You cannot do that at Walmart when you buy cleanser or make up.

Mary Kay products are good. May be expensive but since you only use small portions, the product can last upto 10 months max, except for the astringent.
Aside from being oily, my other concern is sensitive skin that's why I'm quite wary about putting creams or using astringent and other beauty products on my face. A friend introduced Mary Kay 3 or 4 years ago, she did a demo in our office back then. I was relieved that I had no allergic reactions to the product. She recommended that I use their oil control products and they worked. Upto now, I'm still using Mary Kay and in my case, my skin changed from oily to normal, but this may not be the case for other users. Now, I have no problems with shiny nose or forehead and even pimples.
By the way, if you are so prone to acnes and you've tried a number of products to put on your face and none of them worked, perhaps your problem might be internal. Your sebaceous glands may be hyperactive and this can be due to high levels of androgen. You may want to see a doctor for this. I have a friend who had a problem with acnes too. Her skin doctor prescribed a number of medication, creams, etc. but those only worked for a time. Afterwards, the acne kept coming back so she was referred to an ob-gyne. Her hormones were tested and that's how she learned that she has a high level of androgen. She was prescribed pills to correct her hormonal level.

I have very oily skin and acne too and I've tried the Mary Kay cleanser, toner, and mask and it helped my skin tremendously. I stopped using it a while back because of the cost but I wouldn't be opposed to reusing the products. I currently use Proactive which is just as, if not more, costly. It's just that Proactive is a bit more convenient when I need to purchase more.

MK Products for oil control and acne:

You can also try the TimeWise products

If you wear foundation try the Medium-Coverage.
Be sure to speak with a consultant to determine your specific needs and create a skin care regien before purchasing any products. If you use them incorrectly it can make the problem worse.

Mary Kay is nowhere near the best option for you. And they ARE NOT the #1 selling brand like they say. They are only #1 when they manipulate the facts and figures

Yeah I have heard the same thing. They are very expensive though. I would just get some Seabreeze and use it once a day for a while and see if your acne clears up. I dries your face out.

I REALLY like their cleanser and moisturizer. Their eye makeup remover is THE BEST. I'm not impressed with their other products though. I have found better makeup, but never found a better skin care system.

I have. They're very good, high quality, nice colors. Don't know if they are helpful for acne, but they do have makeup for oily skin.
