I ordered an Apple Macbook a couple of days ago from Apple's online store. Well I didn't know that to get the free (or discounted) printer, I had to get it at the same time as the laptop so both items are on the same receipt.

I went to the Apple store at the mall yesterday and the sales rep told me that for me to get the free printer, I would have to pretty much refund my Macbook and have them re-sell it on the floor. The only problem with that is that it is customized and I added more memory and speed so it will be an even harder process for them to take it back.

So now I am just going to buy a printer. I want to know what is the best all-in-one printer that will be compatible with the Macbook and also my old Dell since I am keeping it. I want something for every day printing as well as something that will print good quality color pictures. I am going to be using it mostly for college. Thank you!!!

I'm seeing that a lot of you recommend Epson. I looked up the Epson Stylus Photo RX700 and wow, it's pricey! On sale right now for $229.99 with a regular price of $399.99! This is the type of all-in-one printer I am definitely looking for! Now I want to ask, are there any other printers out there that are Mac compatible for a lower price than the Epson one? I just spent over $2,000 on my Macbook and accessories so I want to "try" to get the best deal for my money.

If there aren't any other printers that have the same features as the Epson one (I like how it can print directly onto CD's/DVD's) then I guess I'm stuck getting that one.

Anyone know of any other good, lower costing all-in-one printers? Thanks.

I've found Epson to be the best at supporting Macs with drivers. I have to admit that I'm not a fan of all-in-one anything. The Gimp-print drivers for The Gimp ( http://www.gimp.org ) allowed me to print to my color laser from Konica-Minolta which didn't offer Mac support. My HP scanner works on the Mac also.

opt for the printer. i presumed about it (on my new MBP) lengthy and hard...many times... I regarded in forums right here and there, for over 3 months. maximum folk on the forums gave the impression to be, pass the Applecare. in preserving with that, i'd opt for the printer on your case (once you're going to spend more effective bucks in any respect). P.S., The forums also stated, do not difficulty with .Mac
