the egg. Each new species of animals starts off as result of a mutation of the genetic code during fertilizaiton.
This means before the first egg of chicken, it's mother was of another species.

chickens probably evolved from something else so i would say the egg because the genetic changes probably occured while it was an egg......sorry i am not usually geeky lke this but that question has always bothered me so my brain came up with that story so i could stop thinking about it.maybe you can just take my word for it so you dont have to ask that uestion again :) jk

God created them both at the same time so the chicken would know how to hatch the egg and take care of the chick. it onle makes sense since you wouldn't expect the chick to know how to raise its self.
