My son cries so bad sometimes (not all the time) when he has a B. M. It seems like it hurts and he's having a tough time! What could I do to help out? I would like to ease his pain.

My little girl had this problem (& still sometimes does). her Dr. told me to give her 2 oz. of water after each feeding. I would also massage her tummy & play a game by "stretching & kicking her legs". I would energetically do this like a workout video and it would distract her from the pain & I'd get a few grins.

DON"T GIVE HIM KARO SYRUP! High Fructose Corn Syrup can kill babies in large enough amounts.

If your baby is formula fed, you need to talk to your doctor about this.

If you are breastfeeding, then it is almost certainly not constipation.
Breastfed babies poop several times a day in the first few weeks, but after that many of them poop much less frequently - once a day or once every few days. Some babies (at that stage) will only poop once a week or so! This is perfectly normal.

Some breastfed babies make a huge fuss before they poop. However, as long as the result of soft, unformed yellowish seedy curds, then they are fine.

Constipation has nothing to do with the time between pooping, only it's consistency. Constipated poop is like small, hard pellets.

Taking a protracted weekend holiday won't be some thing i might propose to your first few days with a clean domestic dog. If the breeder won't save her an added few days or each week, then you definitely could elect to the two bypass the holiday or get a domestic dog later, once you haven't any longer have been given any holidays planned for no less than a month. The domestic dog desires time to get familiar with an extremely consistent habitual; to %. her up, take her from the only abode she's usual, and circulate vacationing together with her for 3 or 4 days in the previous you're taking her to her new abode isn't honest to this domestic dog. i've got pushed a domestic dog abode from an out-of-state breeder; with a evening spent at a hotel, however the domestic dog became into crated various the time, and we spent various the time taking good care of the domestic dog and staring at over her and making beneficial she became into coping with the holiday ok (no concern), no longer vacationing as vacationers or traveling family participants/acquaintances; and it became right into a 2-time out. no longer attempting to bash; yet once you late the diversities in the domestic dog's ecosystem and habitual for the period of those first few months of her life, it ought to influence her social progression, and not for the greater effective. you have reported that your loved ones strikes around plenty via your husband's activity - are you beneficial which you rather choose to tackle a canine? i'm hoping the region works out for the terrific for the domestic dog.

if you are breastfeeding you should not have this problem. if so it may be the food you are eating. i suggest you speak to your baby's doctor. if you use formula you should try a different brand. too much iron can cause anyone to get backed up. at 2 months old a baby should still have pretty loose movements. i would definitely be concerned. don't give him/her any fruit juice without asking the doc. there is a much greater risk for allergic reaction when a baby is too young. most pediatricians recommend no fruit juice or foods other than formula or breast milk until at least the 4th month. good luck

Talk to the pediatrician first. It's only constipation if the stools are hard. My son had the same problem due to switching between formula and breastfeeding. The doctor suggested prune juice.

My son is 12wks and I give hime 1oz of baby apple/prune juice gerber in his formula bottle and it helps. I also was told by my doctor to give him about 2 oz of water between feedings to help with the constipation. I only do it about 1 x a day.

If the baby is on breast feed alone then 7 potties in a day or one in seven days, both extremes are normal. So dont worry. I too was very uncomfortable when my baby did not potty for two days for the first time. when I was informed about what I just told you I was releived and agree with this baby axiom. Baby pottied after 5 / 6 days and was very active, happy otherwise.
Yes if on other feeds baby should ideally do it once. Please seek doctor 7/ midwife advice on this.

Well, they have laxatives for babies at the drugstore. Follow the dosage information. You may also try a little karo syrup in his bottle. (at least I think it's karo, someone correct me if I'm wrong)

He might not be constipated. Check on the consistency of his poop to verify constipation. Straining when pooping is common - you try to poop lying down!!!
