my dad has that happen too, the headaches. you likely have an uncorrected vision problem that makes it difficult for your eyes to focus properly when your pupils are dilated. the darknes of the movie theatre would cause your pupils to dilate while the muscles that change the shape of your lens must move in the opposite direction. this would cause strain which would cause headaches. the headaches are likely the cause of the nausea and dizziness.

I get headaches at the cinemas. 3D movies give me full on migraines. There's just no escape from those big screens right in my face, jerking from picture to picture and worst still shaky filming makes me want to vomit. I've found sitting as far back in the audience as possible helps. And taking a liquid advil before the movie starts helps. If it's a 3D movie, I take extra strength before the movie starts and a second one halfway through the movie. My preference is to just not to go to the cinema. Funny, I can handle a long night in a club or at a concert with music so loud my skin vibrates to the beat. I don't get motion sickness. But cinemas are painful.

could be the flickering of light on the screen. Some people get epileptic seizures from flickering lights.. Could be that it's just too much imput on such a huge scale for your eyes and brain to handle. I'd check with a dr and see if there is actually some condition that would cause those symptoms.

You're probably sitting too close and having a bit of vertigo. Also the focused bright light can give you headaches too.
Try sitting in the back and go to get your eyes checked

It could be due to many things. Psychological, noisy (sound system too damn loud) the need for glasses, the general atmosphere in the movie house. Many are stuffy and the air is not good. Have you been eating junk food? Whenever I need a very nice nap in the afternoon I go to the movies and I wake up somewhat dizzy and disoriented.

Could be vertigo from sitting too close. Many of the newer theaters use stadium seating which pulls viewers "into the action" whereas one could sit much further away in the older theaters. Before you write off movies, I'd try sitting closer to the back.

Migraines it sounds like. The noise, the lights all of these things can trigger migraines. Does it ever happen to you when traveling? That is another area that should help to determine if it is migraines. See a nuerologist.
