we can see that the earth is flat. but it is said that it is round like the shape of orange flattened at the poles and bulgging at the equator. How can you prove it?

you just want a free rocket ride to space :)

Well, besides all the photographic evidence of other planets in our solar system and the pictures of our earth from outer space and the fact that the moon is round.... The Aurora Borealis proves that the earth is round because it only happens at the poles, and cant be seen everywhere on the earth...if the earth was flat and the aurora happens in the middle everyone would be able to see it...That and the fact that it happens at both magnetic poles on opposite sides of the globe. Also the simple fact that it is hotter at the equator proves that the earth is round because if it was flat it would not be hotter there because it couldnt be closer to the sun, while the earth bulging at the equator makes it closer to the sun thus hotter than the part of the earth that curves away. Also the fact that you can sail/walk/fly/drive around the earth back to the same spot without changing direction.....

PS Do you actually believe that the earth is flat??

apart from direct evidences that flash at your face that the earth is round(like photos from space)there are many indirect evidence also.
in the year 340 bc greek philosopher aristotle(in his bookON THE HEAVENS) put two good arguments to prove that the earth is spherical
1)the eclipses of the moon(lunar eclipse)is caused by the earth coming between the moon and sun.the earths shadow on the moon was circular.this would be possible only if the earth is spherical.if it were a flat disc the earths shadow would have been eliptical in all directions except at times when the eclipse took place when the earth was directly under the center of te disc.
2)greek travellers knew from their voyages that the north star when viewed by a person in the south pole appeared to be lower in the horizon than when viewed by a person in the north pole(since the north star is in the north pole it appears to be directly above an obsever in the north pole, but for someone at the equator it appears just to lie at the horizon)
3)in case of an approaching ship we see the hails first and then the hull and gradually we get to see the whole ship
in case of receding ship the hull disappears first.
this phenomenon is possible only if the earth is spherical.if the earth were falt then in case of a receding ship the ship would simply get smaller and smaller until no longer visisble and in case of an approaching ship the ship woud simply get bigger and bigger rather than hails appearing first and then the hull.

so we be sure(infinte %)that the earth is flat
apart from that satellite pictures of the earth from space proves the earth is spherical.
so the earth is not flat, its spherical for sure!!!!!!!

Apart from the answer given Albert Einstein( Modern), in this space age we should take the advantage of modern technology.
From The pictures from the satellites and space shuttles, it is obvious & beyond doubt that the earth and all other planets of our solar system are of round shape.
The distance travelled by ships and air planes are all based upon the spherical distance. So going round the earth in 24 hrs is possible near the poles. Space shuttles and communication satellites are all orbiting around our spherical earth. I my self sailed from one country on a cargo ship and arrived at the same country while travelling always east which took a few months.

Ever been on a beach of a large body of water such as the ocean or one of the Great Lakes? Ever notice how when a ship comes in from the horizon, it not only is getting bigger, but as it gets closer you can see more of it starting with the top and not the bottom? This is because it is coming up over the curvature of the earth and its mast, top, upperdeck is visible first, then finally its hull comes over too.
And, yes , like other people have said, all those rocket things NASA and other nations' space agencies have sent into space have proved it, too.

horizon line, and the fact it gets further away when you climb a mountain

sun getting lower as you travel north

round-trip journey

the flatness is less than 1%, so it will take precision instruments to measure it (gravity difference, distance of travel around equator vs. around the poles)

Stick a pencil in the sand and start walking in a straight line. When you arrive at your pencil again, try to come up with another explanation.

get on a plane and look out of the window, you can see the curvature at extremely high altitudes.
