the twins are 30-7 since june 8th! and now only 3 games back of the wild card...with the yankees a half game ahead of them and the white sox three games ahead of them. If the twins could make it to the playoffs who wants to face a 1-2 punch of santana and liraino...my question is are the twinkies contenders? tell me how far theyll go

wild card is a definate possibility, too bad they share a division with the tigers and white sox. they've been kicking the tar out of everyone for a month and a half and have only gained like 2 games on 1st place. but if they get the wild card, they could be a very dangerous team in the divisional (5 game ) series, with santana and liriano, arguably the 2 best pitchers in baseball right now.

They really have come alive (much to the chagrin of this long-suffering Indians fan). Back when I still held out hope for the Indians earlier this season, I was faced with the reality that it would take an historic collapse by the Tigers/White Sox for Cleveland to make the playoffs (instead Cleveland is charting new depths of mediocrity). The Twins face the same barrier-I just don't believe that Chicago (or Detroit for that matter) will slide low enough to be caught. Basically Minnesota needs to go back in time and post more early season wins. But I wish them the best, and curses upon the Tigers and White Sox.

Amazing! I, for one, am rooting for The Twins to take the wild card.
The white sox have been so busy worried about The Tigers, they totally forgot about Minnesota.
I would love to see the white sox sit at home and watch The Tigers play in the post season!
If The Twins do win the wild card---chances are they would play Boston. And with your 1-2 punch, Boston may not come out ahead.
As it stands now, Chicago is closer to 3rd then they are to 1st.
