I'm tired off all the vidoe girls in all the hip-hop videos. Why do they do this? Why would they want to be someones "*****" or "ho"They don't understand that they are not only degrading themselves but they are degrading a whole race of Black women and women in general.

Now they white media thinks that black women can only be baby mommas, ghetto, loud mouths, hos, baby makers, and golddiggers.

I agree with you completely. It's disturbing to me that girls would like to be called a b.i.t.ch. or a ho, and treated in a disrespectful way.

I have that same question!
My first guess would be the Money. But no amount of money would make me shake my *** on the TV screen while a Rapper shouts "shake it Hoe, Shake It Hoe". It's also lack of respect for self. AND ignorance! Those women don't understand that they are role models for our Young Girls watching these videos!!! They also don't understand that it's just not cute.
The other question I would add is why aren't there more "Dark Skin Women" who don't have weaves and contacts?? Are our men ashamed of our nappy hair or thick lips? If they talk about a female she has to be "mixed" with "pretty hair". You also very rarely see a Woman in a hip hop video who is portrayed as Intelligent, has an Opinion and Deserves to be treated with respect.
To go deeper into your question, I also think that it has a lot to do with the video "Producers" I can almost assure you they are not people of color and they damn sure don't care what kind of ideas and depictions our young black people are getting from seeing these guys with "grills" and scantly dressed women.

it has nothing to do with degradation. its all about the dollar $ across the board.
its obvious women in those videos don't care at all about themselves, or for that fact the portrayal of a WOMAN. while these rappers are busying themselves up for the next video, the 'ho cycle continues...

they want instant fame gratification or they do it in false hopes that it will lead to better opportunities...they can't quite break into a professional/legitimate modeling or acting career and the work they accept is what they are immediately offered. what i mean by instant fame gratification: serious aspiring people know that legitimate job offers come only when you put in serious time and effort. these girls are not "serious"...they want instant recognition.
unfortunately for us "real" women, that image they pursue is the most widely projected and becomes misleading in that it is the most widely coveted

You neglected to mention the guys actually performing the rap music themselves. I have three African-American Godchildren and I remind them every chance I get that there's nothing cool about acting "ghetto."

I know, I totally agree. People like to watch that trash work it...and they get paid a little bit of money, but nothing like the big guns though. To me, they should all go back and get their GED's, then maybe they can find a better job!

I don't know why they do it, but my guess is money. I had offers to do this in my youth, and for the very reasons you stated, my answer was a resounding "NO!"
