because if you dont, they begin to move and shift the location of the other teeth.

Well the biggest reason I can come up with is the pain when you don't most of the time. Usualy because your mouth isn't realy big enough for them... The reson they hurt in the first place so have them pulled and don't go through the pain. I let mine grow in and it was the start of alot of problems. Pressure making the front teeth move arround and when the cavitys started behind them they run rampit to the front. Had mine str8 up pulled no surgery for me in the end. Thats been over 5 years ago and still suffering from not haveing them pulled.

In my case, there was no room in my mouth for them-they were impacted in my jaw and causing excruciating headaches. On occasion an abscess can even form. Some folks teeth are coming in crooked and thus can affect the other, normal teeth.
There are probably other scenarios as well-including that of the rest of my family, whose wisdom teeth grew in fine and cause no problem.

I'm no dentist but the rationale is if they start to crowd your other teeth causing them to become misaligned, are painful or are a possible source of infection they should go. alternately if they are not causing problems most dentists will tell you to leave them in they are not harmful by themselves and elective surgery is a serious undertaking even dental work. and always always always get a second opinion.

most people do not have enough room in their mouths for all of their teeth to fit with out crowding. anyone who has them removed when they are not causing pain is simply doing it for potential cosmetic benefits. if however they are impacted there will be pain that will only be relieved by removal.

The reason why people get them removed is to reduce their chances of their front teeth crowding!

I was told that it was because they cram in your other teeth and the shifting of your regular teeth can cause many problems later in life.

SOME PEOPLE DONT HAVE ENOUGH ROOM FOR THEM AND WHEN THEY COME IN THEY CAN GET IMPACTED AND CAUSE OTHER PROBLEMS--LIKE CAVITIES THAT WILL SPREAD TO OTHER TEETH.
