Did you know that chemists can make up precise solutions that are only slightly different in color from each other.

So you could look at a color spectrum of solutions in little lab bottles of 2,000,000 colors along the spectrum. Imagine hundreds of thousands of very slightly different shades of green.

You could bring in your OWN bottle and match it. If your color vision is normal, you can get it to a precise match --every bottle on the shelf will look slightly different when you try to match the one you brought in. It takes practice, but with practice we can all do it.

Many animals have sharper sense and better eyesight than humans, but our skill at color differentiation is awesome (probably becuase of our special development of the visual cortex).

The colors are THERE in nature. We see "so many colours in life" because we are designed to analyse them -- example -- we are the only animal on earth that can "see through" camoflage to the animals hiding there. That's why the birds shut up and the animals freeze when we go for a walk. Usually they know they can freeze and become invisible... but... with humans... they can never be sure they have faded into the background.

because colors can be mixed with other colors to make an infinite amount of colors.

lets get to the basics.. red and yellow make orange right? well if you change the amounts of yellow or red you have a different color.. If you add a tiny touch of white...another color.. tiny bit more white..another color. If you want to learn about how that works I highly recommend taking a color theory class. It has affected my artwork in so many ways. Now I'm able to let the colors do the work of creating movement, form, and depth with out me having to force it to happen. kinda hard to explain but I LOVE color. I always feel sad to hear that someone is color blind. look how much they miss out on!!!
