Every generation feels this same thing. It's not a new observation. Those who make the observation are typically under hard times at the moment. It no longer seems fair, even though in this country most of the wealth was earned and not just handed down between a ruling class of people. This country has more new millionaires springing up than any other.
Because there is so much wealth, I believe the comparison is just so much more obvious. In perspective to the rest of the world, many of those we may consider poor would be middle class in another culture. Low income in this country usually means still having a car, a roof over the families head and food on the table. We have people who are just plain destitute, which is inexcusable, but not in the amounts that constitute a large percentage of our population.
With the diversity in this country, it's difficult to constantly see what we may feel we'll never have. But, to someone from some other country, even our barest essentials may seem like a dream come true.

Well as you see, the rich are always helping the poor, or at least they ty to convey themselves like that. A civil War in America is very unlikely in the next decade but if you wish, why dont you try to start one?

It's sad but I can see it. I'm ready to go to war against the oil companies and drug companies.
Nobody can get ahead, if by some chance they do they don't try to help anybody else out they just move away from the poor people and pretend they don't exist.

this happens with every empire. eventually you will see people wearing different hats and before you know it boom every one is trying to kill each other. the rich will leave the country with all their money and we will just be stuck with a broken mess of a country. remember by 2025 the majority in ameirca will be hispanic. government programs will disappear because there are no more middle class to pick up the tab. i forcast lots of chaos in the mere future.

I doubt a class war will erupt. A morely likely scenario is one that involves the "culture wars" taking a violent turn.

Yes, we are... but I doubt it will be so much about class as it will be about religious freedom (i.e., Fundamentalist/Evangelical Christians vs. Other Religions/Those Who Don't Believe). One side or the other will take up arms to protect their beliefs and it will get way out of hand. And it will be ugly.

Depends on what you think qualifies as a civil war…
;-)
In some sense yes, but in the traditional thinking of civil war I don’t think so (I could be wrong though).
With that said, yes I think there is bound to be a change, a revolution of some sort... but a civil war... nah, not really.
;-)
Just a CHANGE.

I agree, but i think it may be on a bigger level. It may involve change in the US, Canada, the UK, etc. but i think it will be peaceful (i hope). The way we are running our world today isn't working that well.
