Some airlines are cutting out meals altogether on flights. For example, Northwest is only providing something to eat for a fee. Last time I flew the meal was $3 for anyone that wanted it.

It's much better today that it was back in the day when they gave us live chickens are required us to kill and prepare them on our own.
Seriously, a recent flight a friend of mine took offered brown-bag lunches that the passengers picked up as they boarded the plane...ugh!
And, for the record, the best airline food is on JAL. It's consistently delicious, and well-presented.

Well, unless you fly Jet Blue (Damn I love that airline. Everybody flys first class!), all you get is salted peanuts, a sandwitch, and a soda. Now, I'm going to tell you about a crime against humanity. Excluding Jet Blue, none of the airlines serve root beer on their flights. That is a SIN! Repent now, serve root beer! Yay, Root Beer!
