The healthiest way is with exercise. If you are eating relatively healthy (McDonald's every day would definitely rule this out. Yes, even with a Diet Coke.), then you will probably not be able to make any lasting gains through diet. Exercise is best for several reasons:

1) After 20-30 minutes of exercise, your body will decide it needs more efficient energy. The most efficient energy comes from your fat cells, so after 20-30 minutes, the fat cells start to get burned. 40 minutes - 60 minutes each day would be ideal.

2) Once your body does start burning fat cells, it tends to stay that way. Up to 4 hours AFTER your exercising, the body is still burning fat cells.

3) Exercising builds up muscles, and muscles burn more calories than fat. This is a lasting benefit of good exercise.

4) I personally find that when I exercise more, my overall appetite is reduced. When I go on my ski vacations, I notice that I rarely eat any lunch at all, because I am simply not hungry!

5) And all that other good stuff about reduced heart disease risk, reduced cancer risk, better immune system, and just feeling and looking better.

drink water..
exercise (it keeps up your metabolism)
DO NOT eat less, because if you do eat less, your body goes into starvation mode, so when you do eat something, it will go straight to fat.

try eating 6 small meals a day, it prevents cravings so you wont keep snacking between meals.
yep thats all i kno,
