eBay COMPENSATION SCHEME.
I was cheated by a woman in Hull - she cashed my cheque for
£ 46 but never sent the goods.

Claimed eBay for compensation and may receive £ 7.00.

They dont include paid postage in the compensation amount.

Some compensation, eh ???

What were you buying that cost £7.00 and £39 postage?

Seems likely that the women was also cheating eBay and avoiding excessive fees by inflating the postage cost, in which case I have some sympathy with eBays point of view.

Top tips:
Check the date the seller joined eBay - joined within the last few weeks?
How many items are they selling in proportion to their feedback?
Check the seller's feedback: did they boost it by buying e-mail links or ebooks for 99p?
Do they have *any* negative feedback? A score less than 98% for someone with more than 100 feedbacks is dodgy.
Never spend more than X pounds on eBay (just like going to a real auction).
Always ask a question. Don't get a response? Beware.

As you have found out , EBay is trying hard to tell people that they are there for them, and they have compensation schemes in place
BUT
In reality, EBay only looks after number one !!
The complaints department is a tiny garden shed at the back of their car park no. 2 !!
USE PAYPAL - NOChex is as bad as EBay .

The 'scheme' does not work, try the small claims court or try writing to her telling her you will report her to the police as that is theft.

That's why you should always use PayPal or a credit card, that way you can dispute it before they get your money.
