You know, when I lived in California, I never felt tension or judged by my skin color. I feel some tension now that I have moved to Arizona, but do you think thats gonna stop me from being happy, and from voting? Do you think it should stop anyone? So what if there was so much racism in the past and even slavery, we all have the same rights now, and you better believe that you can SUE THE PANTS OFF OF ANYONE WHO DISCRIMINATES AGAINST YOU, LIKE FOR A JOB, OR FOR BENIFITS, OR VOTING. So what do we people of color have to worry about anymore, there are jerks of all colors, dont let that stop you!

No you shouldn't be treated by your skin colour.
Yes, some places in the world, society has accepted people of different skin color, and different religions, and actually given them the same rights.
Where do you live?

I guess it's a stigma that most people have. It's like if you're in a foreign land and there are very few of your countrymen. You'll naturally want to click with them than with the locals. Then again, everyone should be treated equally. Caucasians used to think they were of the superior race than the rest of the races in the past but the other races felt that the Caucasians were snobs. This still lives till today where some races still think they are God's chosen ones. But please bear in mind that if you've been rejected in a relationship by someone of another race, that doesn't mean he or she is a racist. Everyone has his or her own preferences when it comes to choosing partners.

I feel that we are all the same and that cultural diversity is something that should be embraced, but there are those that wish to hang on to the status quo. They are ignorant to what people of color have to offer to the world in terms of intellect, art, music, and even food. It is sad that in this day and age that this type of mentality stills exists, but sadly it does. But there is a bright side. There are organizations in the world that do offer a environment for cultural diversity to grow and foster and exchange of ideas and thinking so all is not lost. It is those people who are locked into the past that are lost and hopefully they will somehow find their way into the future.

well according to constitution, it shouldn't matter. it's just becuase in today's world where stereotyping is at an all time high. You should see the movie, "Crash." It's really graphic, but it sort of does tell the truth about how people stereotype others. And it is a known fact that when you see a person for the first time, within the first second you have already made a judgement about them. Kind of sad, huh?

Actually, society has given them more rights (see affirmative action). If skin color really didn't matter, than nobody would be discriminated against nor would they get special treatment.

most of society accepts that, but there are always a few small minded bigots who think skin color actually makes somebody inferior
