This is kinda weird but I always try to find something that has to do with the book or if it was a movie.Like a bookmark or the movie ticket. On time I got a post card in the mail about the book and used that. Just a little something that is related to it.

If I'm reading a hardcover book with a book jacket, I use the book flaps to keep my place. This is the most convenient thing to do. If it's a library book and I don't want to bend the page corners...then I use homemade bookmarks...my sister is a teacher and she shares scraps of colored cardstock...sometimes laminated cardstock...so I use those. Other times I'm real "creative" and use the receipt of the book as a bookmark. But half the time I finish the book in one sitting and don't need a bookmark at all.

an actual bookmark or the corner of the page, but the one that I do the most is the paper book cover I put into the page that I was reading.

I usually have bookmarks that I make or bought but sometimes I use anything thin that's near me. An i.d., receipt, photos, a small scrap of paper and sometimes even a candy wrapper (with nothing sticky in it of course!~)

I was able to get a leather bookmark somewhere. However, I lost it and can't find another. I loved it because it didn't slide like other bookmarks.

I actually have a gold plated bookmark I got when I graduated from college and I use it regularly. It has a saying on it by Winston Churchill.

You can decorate cardstock in about any way and then put clear packing tape over it and it will look laminated. Also
they have new magnetic mini card looking bookmarks out now that are kinda neat.

I use bookmarks that I have bought, (one has a penguin wearing a bikini, its funny) notecards work well, and the subscription cards that fall out of magazines

I use a tube ticket or a cinema ticket stub- then it reminds me of a journey or a film i went to see and makes me smile.
I also like to use postcards that people have sent me.
My boyfriend uses a joker playing card that was given to him. Its from Las Vegas and he always uses that and has done for years!

I think that bending the pages is wrong ... people, respect your books!!
