It really doesn't make sense to me. Forgetting something is much different than passing wind. Explain to me why this phrase makes sense or share with me your disgust and hatred of this ridiculous term.

I'm sorry to anyone who feels that I should have more to be disgusted about. There is more, but I tend to discuss real issues with my friends and family. I feel that Yahoo Answers is a forum for fun and slight annoyances. This is no place, for me, to have a discussion about politics, religion or current events. You'll never see me pose a question nearly that serious. Understood?
Get over yourselves.

Yes, it does. However, I also get annoyed when people use the term unique (which means one of a kind) to mean unusual or rare. It is particularly supid to hear someone say that something is "very unique" or "extremely unique". There are no degrees of being one of a kind. It either is or it isn't.

The term brain fart seems both dismissive of mistakes and vulgar at the same time. I suppose it is a bit better than the military term of describing a screwup as a "rat f**k". Still, "my mistake" would seem to do just as well. When I hear the term I tend to wonder then what brain diarrea would be.

It's a thought that passed, just like a fart, never to be regained. There's worse things in this world to be disgusted about, besides this harmless saying.
