You have to see it from all sides really. And g4 did not do that really. I have been an anime fan for over 15 years, I even worked for an anime company for awhile and was forced to work at conventions. If it came down to liking or disliking anime fans based on the 'superfans' I would HATE it.
Superfans to me are the ones that ONLY watch one show and are obsessed with it and refuse to watch anything else but that one series, like the SM fans, DBZ fans, Inu Yasha fans, Nurato fans, they are very one-sided and are normally very ignorant to anime as a whole.
A lot of people that are outside the anime fan bubble are scared off by the attitude of anime fans, causing them to shy away from the genre. Anime fans are generally not very good with the social skills. They are usually very easy to rile and LOVE to argue. Socialites are not very compatible with this kind of personality, which is usually blamed on the anime itself.
Anime fans are also very competitive. An anime collector will stop at nothing to get that one thing they can flaunt and rub in other collectors faces. They strive to be the top of their game. This can make them very annoying.
The anti-anime people can be just as annoying as the superfans. Someone that refuses to watch a genre of movies, just based on the type of film they are, is usually doing it out of spite, and for attention. Saying you hate all anime without watching it is like saying you hate all action movies. There has to be at least one or two that will spike your interest, but as a whole, they are not your style.
There are the anime superfans, the anti-anime people, and then there are just the watchers stuck in the middle that could care less either way. We have just moved into a period of time that the superfans and the anti-fans are outweighing the watchers. Soon the fad will blow over and us watchers can have it back.

video was informative! my take. I think that anime is just like any thing, sure it has a cult apele to it, but think about other things like the trekies and star warz nuts. you are always going to have people that eat sleep and die something and them people offen have an obsesive tendency to try and keep animi locked down for there own personal viewing, and if it were like that then no one would ever make any money at it! i think them 3 they selected were all to much alike, they all had a very causul take on it
somewhere there is a nuttcase that would give them what they want to hear! its mine all mine lol

.....Ugh...I don't know who to flame the website, the guy in the picture dressed up (His form of cosplay should be aganist the law) or the persons mentioned in the article...Now if they are too ignorant to see the true impact of what anime has done to America and the fandom that is alive here, that is entirely on them. I suggest we all move on with our lives and hope we never have to witness something like that ever again.
