gassy has one way.
another way is if you still have enough space on the old hard drive and its still woking properly . just switch hard drives.esspecally if the hard drive in the new one is smaller than the old one.
also get or buy a external hard drive big enough to copy the contents of your old computer and copy the files into it and after set up of new computer install the external hd disk in the new one and transfer the files from the external hd into the new hd.
or network the two computers and transfer the files that way.
one of those should work. or you can always pay a repair store to copy the files for you.

With the new yahoo methods of file upload, this is what I would do if I were you. open or create a Yahoo briefcase. then attach all the files and save then in the breifcase. connect the new computer to the internet and in few minutes all the documents will be downloaded into the new computer depending on what speed of internet service you have. with my kind all this will be completed in less than 30mins. Good luck.

Burn all your stuff onto a disk>Go to add/remove programs>click on add new programs>insert the disk and save to file of your choice. From there you can put your info where you want. If anything ever goes wrong you still have the disk. The place you bought the computer should have tech-support that will walk you through it or for a small fee will do it for you.Micro-Center has always done well for my whole family.

You can buy a special link cable for about a tenner that connects the 2 computers via USB. It comes with software and you can transfer files either way between computers

You can get the old hard drive, change the jumper setting to Slave and install it into your new machine. If the new machine is under warranty you may have to get the shop to do it for you. Option two is get a hard drive enclosure, put the drive from your old machine into it and plug it into the new machine via USB port. I would do the second option with a new machine. Hard drive enclosures and cables are available from reputable computer shops relatively cheaply. Good luck!
