I can. I suffer from social phobia and agoraphobia and spend a lot of time hearing from my friends about things they did, but didn't invite me to because they figured I wouldn't leave the house. I missed several family gatherings when it was first diagnosed.
I basically watch the world instead of take part. I don't weave, but I do embroider. I also memorized a whole bunch of The Lady of Shalott years ago and sometimes recite it to myself to keep calm.

I wouldn't say I relate to the Lady of Shalott, but that I'm more understanding of how she... as a isolated and beautiful being of art cannot survive when she steps out into world of complexity. However... I prefer Tennyson's "In Memorium" more. I like the whole idea of how death does not confine the everliving memories of the deceased.

I can't really relate, but I do love the poem and the painting by Waterhouse even more.
