Tough luck then.
Where I work at, if you don't work you don't get paid. I have to earn my keep.
You can still have your vacation, but not with the pay.

I think a real Human Rights violation is making you pay tax over and over on something that you own, like a piece of property. You have a right to live, thus the land that you are born on. You can't float in the sky.

Since when is paid holiday a human rights issue ? I suppose we could make it one then every utterly stupid idea a person could think of would become a human rights violations. First Article 24 is not about vacation with pay it's about paid holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving and receiving pay if you have the misfortune of working them. I hardly think that is as shameful as say genocide, slavery, forced labor or being forced to join a National Party. We mustn't add just any whim to the human rights category are we lower the bar for what truly is a violation. I know of few places that don't offer a Vacation package if your employer doesn't perhaps you should consider a new job. That said if you think the United States has long hours look at other civilized nations then at those not considered civilized.

I wouldn't go calling Amnesty International just yet...
Slavery, sweat shops and forced labor are Human Rights violations. Making employees earn vacation by working a minimum number of hours/months is a perfectly legal practice. Paid vacation, sick days, medical coverage are all called BENEFITS. They are additional perks in a non-socialist society. In the U.S., any employee unhappy with his/her benefits is free to seek employment with another company.
If you're dealing with a "placement agency," you're probably either a temporary worker or a new worker who has not yet qualified for full benefits. Keep working, fulfill your hours and you'll earn paid vacation. If not, you're working for the wrong company.
A "shame" for the USA?
My grandfather was a servant. My immigrant mother picked cabbages in the fields for eight years. She worked hard, went to school and eventually owned her own business. She put me through school and I got a good job. I wasn't happy with the benefits my small company gave me so I went back to school (working temp jobs to earn tuition), got another degree and now work for a bigger company with outstanding benefits.
That's the American way.

Not a violation at all. Its only a matter of time before most companies drop all benefits. Many are taking on the attitude its a privilege for you to work here and that's you benefit. Just ask Ford and GM shut down plants putting 40,000+ people out of work while opening plants in China.

Its not in violation. It says Holidays with pay, not vacation with pay. In the finer details of our own constitution there are exceptions to even that. 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year is considered a reasonable limitation.

Employers are not obligated to offer paid vacations, but I think that it is in their best interest to give people time off. Work can't be any body's life, no matter how important they would like to believe it is.
