You should not consider becoming a lonely mountain hermit, as your mind requires frequent stimulation, but you do prefer some time for quiet, thoughtful meditation. However, you should not run away and hide in the bush! Instead, embrace your kindly spirit and smile upon misery! You will be greeted with gratitude. Cheerfulness is contagious, it seems. Still, you may smile and find misery snarls and hisses at you. If so, simply turn away or you may be introduced to misery's good friend adversity, who will not compliment your amiable disposition.

Your logic is understandable but flawed. Misery loves company means that unhappy people do not want to be around happy people because happy people will not allow them to whine and complain about their many woes. Happiness does not love solitude because happy people love people, and they will even try to cheer up a miserable person. I am glad that you are happy, and the world will be a better place if you stay off that mountain.

The analogy would fit properly if the last part was mingled with. In this analogy, the two are opposites, so the last example should prove their separation.

Misery loves company, so happiness should loathe solitude.

No confined hermit is ever truly happy. Happiness comes from congregation of people and the communication between individuals.

You are right since meditation is done in solitude. But you don.t want to meditate all day like some in India do. If so go ahead. But if not the rest of the time you could be among us common mortals. See this site for more on this. It is about you and happiness.
