I talk kind of funny even though I am 31 years old and have lived in the U.S. all my life. Many people ask me what country I'm from because they detect an accent. When I tell them I was born and raised in America, they ridicule me about how my voice sounds funny. I am of mixed race and many think I'm either Dominican of from India just from looking at me. I took speech therapy as a child and it didn't help. Should I lie and say I'm from another country to excuse the way I sound? English is the only language I know, so what if someone asks me to speak my "native" language.?

ok. at first, I guess that those teenagers are the two being bullied or only want professional help. I remember when I first observed this series. Granted I DID have a dying observe yet I saved it as a mag and a sketchbook. I felt that the outward visual charm could be sufficient to maintain human beings removed from me if i replaced into having a nasty day. i think of infants under the age of 18 shouldn't watch dying observe if that's the end result.

be true to yourself... no one that really matters will care about your voice... if you start to lie ,, then the lie turns into more lies to cover up for yourself .. and a lie always comes out sooner or later then you will be a liar with a so called funny voice , not just a guy with a so called funny voice... those people who ridicule you are not worth having in your life.. period !!!

You wouldn't be lying by saying you are a foreigner, for everyone here in the U.S. of A is a foreigner except the native Indians.

Yep. I would lie about it and when they ask to speak your native tongue tell them you haven't spoke it since before grade school.

Tell them your parents spoke with an accent.and when you learned to speak you picked it up.
I hate nosey people. and when people go on about something. sometimes a short quick, rehearsed answer is good.

You have no need to lie, you just need to be able to let the others believe you, and if they don't then this is their problem not your problem.
Any other question I'll be happy to answer.

No. Why should you lie about who you are? They have the problem, not you. Next time, tell them to go fu*k themselves.
