(read my other question, about boys' names plz to get the story) if i use the name Akito, (i just looove that name!) would it seem too similar to fruits basket? this guy isn't as scary, isn't as evil (isn't a girl either), my character is more lonely/misunderstood/has never really lived and is missing out on his life.

Akito means "autumn person". Akiro, Akihito, Akihiro and Akira are close in their definitions and sound.

In Japanese, the meaning associated with the pronunication of the name is not always correct.

You'll want to do some research and figure out what the character's name is written in kanji (Japanese version of Chinese characters). Once you have that, you can figure out the real meaning of that specific character's name.

I did a little digging and found her name in kanji to be:
草摩 慊人

Unfortunately, I cannot read kanji/chinese, so that's all I can help with.

I do not understand the context of the question you are describing.

I think it is spelled aikito and I think it is a form of martial arts, but I don't know much about that.
